Paz sem voz... About this event: V Fórum de Protagonismo Juvenil do DF
ou "Sem você, comunicar pra quê!?" Fazer tudo o que foi feito para pessoas que provavelmente nunca voltarei a ver e que possivelmente nunca tenha visto (sim, porque não conheci tod@s que lá estiveram). E fiz mesmo pra elas, as pessoas participantes? Falar, escutar, estar presente, ser parte, ser reconhecido, ser visto, ocupar, agir, fazer diferente. Talvez essas sejam motivações para que elas, as pessoas participantes, estivessem naquele espaço - que agora já parece tão distante. Penso que pode ser exatamente por cada uma dessas motivações que possa gritar bem alto: Paz sem voz não é paz, é medo! Mas essas são as pessoas que, por construirem hoje a paz que fala, que se expressa, farão a paz amanhã? A paz duradoura, plena - a paz silenciosa que vem de tudo aquilo que está pronto, que está cheio?

"Mais um Fórum realizado!" Ou seria "Fórum realizado!"? Ou seria "Fórum!"? ponto! Talvez agora, que acabo de chegar em casa após um fim de semana que pareceu durar uma semana inteira, possa imaginar um Movimento de Juventude. Feito de poucos, é verdade. Desejado por muitos é verdade. Mas um movimento... Posso parar na beira do lago e olhar pra lua e dizer: Sim! E, mesmo cansado e ferido até os ossos, sei que ainda devo ter forçar de encarar o dia de amanhã e "alimentar meus filhos". O mundo há que continuar girando... E que venham outros!!!

It's been too exciting today!! Today, many ideas about many issues... Imagine if the whole american continent could create a collective action plan, focused on Solidarity and Cooperation, based on Communication processes and Collective Actions, to happen during all the next 2 years. Imagine now 70 people commited to this idea, implementing a website and a publication to share visions, ideas and successful actions about their individual and collective action plans. All these could come true in a few hours. We're going to make right now the 4th america's regional meeting. Let's see the real (em)power of these young leaders. But, following a chinese remind: "Be prepared for the worst, expect the best and receive the reality" ps. The speach was pretty good. I think people have enjoyed. Some of them came to me, to thank me for the inspiring words...It's nice, isn't it? :)

Speach at the Join Section About this event: International Youth Parliament 2004
I'm going to make a speach at the join section, for the delegates of IYP. What amazing opportunity!! I'm very excited... You're the first ones who are going to be able to read it, ok?! :) I'll try to post something about it after... See ya! I’m supposed to be here to talk to you about “lack of spaces for youth voices be heard”. I know some of you know that it’s a real problem nowadays. But all that I want is a solution for this problem. All of us want to be heard. How can we improve our actions to build a place where youth voices, as all the other voices, can be heard. And, more than that, can be respected and expected. So, in stead of talking about the problems, I would like to talk about some solutions. Let’s see the positive aspects. Let’s feel the positive vibration. Well, I’ve been participating all these days of the Action Area Group called “Youth Culture and Empowerment”. It was a great opportunity to listen to creative and powerful solutions for the problem of the lack of spaces. I will try, in the next three minutes, to summarize the discussions, and solutions, of our group. I can see three different points of view, a hundred of different solutions, thousands of different possibilities to act. The fist of them is about ART. But we can say its about BODY EXPRESSION, CULTURAL ACTIVITIES… When young people use their bodies, their culture, to express themselves and their views of the whole society, I’m sure they can create powerful spaces, where the youth voices can be heard. And, moreover, young people are an important part of society that, using their bodies and expressions, attract adults, children and other young people to enjoy with them. When young people learn about their culture, they can better use it to be heard. When young people test their own limits (I’m talking about body limits), they too can better know the limits in general, of the society as a whole. The second idea is about CENTERS. When we create, and support, youth centers, we can better understand our needs and our possibilities to act for a social and positive change. When young people can meet, looking into each other’s eyes, they can be much more respectful for the human being in general and more organized as a social group. If we can organize ourselves, I’m sure, nobody can stop from listening to us. If we organize, we can have a better idea about what we should say. And then, they (the ones who are not listening to us now) will respect us, because we have a huge voice and strong and useful ideas. The last, but not least, solution is about NETWORKING. Implementing powerful tools to improve the communication and the sharing of ideas is something that can be a creative solution if you want to be heard. And, if you want to help other young people to be listened to. Why? Young people can understand young people better than anyone else. We have the same spirit, although the parents of our parents have created geographical barriers. We have the same problems, although our governments insist in treating us differently in different countries. We all have the same power to change the society, in spite of the fact that the society itself, sometimes, doesn’t know this. But we need to be connected to turn all these feelings into reality. So, I hope I could have, more than just inspired you or talked about problems, shown some possible and real solutions for our most important need: the need to be heard when we’re being affected by those, and others, problems. Where are these solutions? Just look around you. They are all here, at this place, at this time. And they will always be besides us, if we want to.

Ola amigos, namorada, pai e mae! Puff...Muitas coisas para contar...Sera que da tempo? Bem, acho que tempo eh uma boa palavra pra usar nesse comeco de post porque eh impressionante como ele eh poderoso e relativo ao mesmo tempo... Sem muita viagem, gostaria de dizer que ha muita coisa boa rolando por aqui. Obviamente, por se tratar de um evento internacional, todos os contatos feitos sao de pessoas de outros paises. O grande lance e sabermos como aproveitar isso...Ok,ok...Sei que a lingua eh uma barreira para os brasileiros se comunicarem com outras partes do mundo! Mas...Que tal experimentarmos conhecer outras realidades tao distintas, com problemas tao parecidos quanto os nossos que fazem jovens como nos pensarem em solucoes criativas e similiares as nossas? Estou investindo grande parte da minha energia agora em tentar organizar reunioes com os delegados americanos (do continente americano). Sao 70 pessoas. Interesses muitas vezes diferentes, mas que estao dispostas a cooperar. E sabem que isso eh algo importante e necessario. Sera que rola mesmo de tentar finalizar aqui mesmo, nos proximos 4 dias, uma plano de acao coletivo, envolvendo o maior numero de delegados americanos que possibilite uma comunicacao efetiva e a realizacao de, ao menos, 1 acao conjunta?? Espero que sim...E nisso que estou trabalhando... A ideia que esta no ar e que tentemos realizar um IYP das americas...Que voce acha? So pra ilustrar a minha felicidade, segue uma fotinha ai...

Acabei de jantar. Esta tudo indo bem. Participei hoje, como ja contei do grupo chamado "Cultura Jovem e Empoderamento". O grupo ainda esta um pouco 'parado', mas acho que eh por timidez das pessoas. Kaajal e Blanch, das Ilhas Fiji. Betty, dos EUA. Tarla, da Jordania. Bertha, da Bolivia. Martin, da Argentina. Marie, do Canada. Kennedy, das Ilhas Salomao... Muitas pessoas, muitas ideais, muita inspiracao. Ate agora, nada muito relacionado a acao. Mas, inspirar eh a primeira acao para uma longa jornada, ne? Por hora, eh so. Mas, fica a pergunta. QUAL O MUNDO MELHOR QUE QUEREMOS? E QUAIS SAO OS NOVOS LIDERES PARA ESSE MUNDO?

Today we finally celebrate de oficial begining of the IYP 2004. Yesterday we have participated on a spiritual ritual called Smoking Cerimony. It`s amazing and intense. The only problem is that most people was not 'connected' to the cerimony...But, for me, it`s very significant. Today we could se 'the hole' parliament. Very, very beautiful. It`s strange and gorgeous when you can see people from different parts of the world listening together to the same music, seeing the same ritual, feeling distincts but harmonious feelings. THERE IS A CHANCE. AND WE COULD BE PART OF IT! Today in the evening (in a few minutes, in fact) we will start the Action Area Groups. As I told you, I`m part of the YOUTH CULTURE AND EMPOWERMENT Group. Let`s see and contribute. I`ll post more in the end of the day.

Hi everyone! I`m now at the OXFAM office. 50 hours after leave home... I`m enjoying a lot and I`ve already make some new contacts! And good news: Brazilian delegation is now well represented. We are in 3, me, Renata (DF) and Edson (RJ). We`re missing so much Marina (PE), Larissa (CE) and Pedro (SP). But, I think we can do a good job here. I work with Social Networks, Edson works with Communitary Development and Renata works with Politic Education. So, we can bring to discussion many different points of view. Although, I`m in the YOUTH CULTURE group, Edson is in HUMAN RIGHTS, and Renata is in EDUCATION group. How can we bring YOUR point of view? I`ll try to write everyday, explaining to you what`s going on. Keep in touch! Bad news: I lost my flight ticket on buenos aires...What a problem!! I hope I can solve this... Wish me luck...
